Today my friend and I went to Museum of Modern Art to research for a class... and I spotted this.
I found it funny this teacher decided to choose the most traditional artwork she could find in this contemporary exhibition (see post title) and have the kids just copy it.
That's a waste of time. Have them look at the art and ask them what they think of it, what it's about, why it was made, etc. That's far more thought-provoking. And when you have Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Takashi Murakami, and a slew of other famous contemporary artists on view... such a shame.

Better than my experience of education at least, "here's a book that contains what you need for the next exam, now try not to kill each other while I play solitaire on my computer."
